We spent Memorial Weekend at the cabin. Grandma Reid and Avi were up there part of the time as well. Sarah and Avi had a lot of fun playing. I think Sarah is definitely making a fashion statement with the jeans under the dress.
It didn't take much time for Austin to get some tools out. A favorite is to break open big rocks.
Jim, the girls, and I went to fill up the water tank...yeah, running water again (kinda).
Love her!
Austin holding one of the many lizards the boys caught over the weekend.
This is one of the few pictures where all three boys are smiling - Austin, Tommy, Sammy.
Tommy is an expert lizard catcher. He catches them all the time now. In fact, once a neighbor called because there was a lizard in her house. Tommy went over and caught it.
Avi & Sarah playing UNO...all the kids played a lot of UNO.
Our good friends, the Pareja's, let us borrow their Rhino for the weekend. We took the kids out on several rides. On Saturday, it was windy, so it got pretty cold when you are going 30+ miles. The kids didn't mind too much once they were bundled up.
Austin's turn.
Not fair, how come Sammy gets to go again? (a common phrase over the weekend).
Dad & Sarah (love this pix)
Austin and Sammy decided to build a treehouse. The did a pretty good job getting a floor down. They started eating most of their meals up there.
We decided to go for a little drive. Jim wanted to check some place out for a hike to take the scouts on (forgot the name of the trail). While we were there I spotted a horned toad, so I exclaimed, "Look, a horned toad." Then it was a scramble between Tommy and Sammy who would catch it. Sammy got it to the displeasure of Tommy.
Sweet views.
A cool rock we hung out under.

While we were driving back, Jim spotted a crane. We wanted to get a picture so I tried to sneak up on it...
All I got was this picture of it flying away.
For FHE we decided to take the kids on a Blind Walk. Jim and I were preparing to go on Trek and this was one of the activities, so we decided to practice on our kids.
Jim lead them around with a rope for awhile. Then they dropped the rope and had to make there way back to the sound of me pounding two rocks together...kind of like listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Then at the same time, Jim made a similar sound to try to distract them...kind of like how Satan tries to distract us or lead us astray. It was a cool object lesson. The kids had fun.
Cabin time is always fun. Looking forward to our next trip.
