Ready, Set, KICK! Soccer Season Begins!

March 17, 2012

Sammy and Sarah both had their first soccer game today.  Dan P. is Sammy's coach and a bunch of his friends are on the team.  I missed the game, because I was busying coaching my little Dolphins.

Apparently, Sammy played AWESOME!!

Throwing the ball in.

Carrying on Tommy's tradition of wearing #2.

I'm coaching Sarah's team.
Our team name is the Dolphins!

Sarah played amazing for her first soccer game ever.  She even scored a couple of goals.

Sarah with her teammate, Ellie.

Sarah chasing down the ball.  Kade was a super star and he was great about trying to get the other kids involved by passing to them.

This is going to be a fun team!

Spring Training Game

Spring Training Game
Dodgers vs. Rangers
March 16, 2012

Tommy, Austin and I went to a Spring Training Game.  Sadly, we were the only ones that could make it this year - Sammy was vacationing with the Pareja's, Sarah was at a friend's house, and Jim was too busy at work.

The boys were very excited...I told them they could each have two treats (if I would have had the other two kids they would have only gotten one treat - lol).

Tommy got some type of lemonade drink and then an ice cream, then he was ready to go and it was the 3rd inning...I made him stick it out to the 7th inning.

Austin got cotton candy and nachos.  Austin spread his treats out a little, he was ready to go by the 6th inning.

NOTE TO SELF:  Next year, find out if they really want to go to the game or if they just want treats.

Girls Camp Preview

Girls' Camp Preview
March 12 & 13, 2012

Summer is fast approaching which means Girls' Camp is right around the corner.  This year we are having a Ward Girls' Camp.  We found a spot in Show Low, but we wanted to check out the facilities so we could have a visual of what to expect to help us better plan.

The awesome cabin for our support staff!

Austin quickly spotted the horses.

1st attempt at getting a picture of the kids.

2nd attempt.

3rd attempt.  There was no 4th attempt....

Sammy

Sarah was super excited when Marissa showed up.

Sammy couldn't get enough of little William.

Austin actually fell asleep rather early.

That night we played a heated card game of Wizards.  Travis smoked us all...but isn't counting cards illegal???  Maybe he should be disqualified????  Just saying...

Time for breakfast.  Jim and Marty grilled up some pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs.  Every thing tastes so much better when you cook it on a grill.

There was a little snow...

...and a lot of mud.  Mr. William kept slipping in it.

Austin was attracted to the big hole.  Apparently it use to be a pond.  The owner drained it because he wants to put a liner down.  He will eventually refill.

Bocce Ball
LOVE THIS GAME!!
Tiffany showing us how it's done.

Travis making precise measurements.

Tommy ready to throw.

Jim and Marty (not shown) were able to actually beat the reigning champion (Travis).

Tommy & Jacob

Okay, seriously, can these kids be any cuter?

Miss Audrey

Mr. Landon

It was a quick trip but we are super excited for girls camp.  What an amazing location.

Super Sammy is Seven!

Happy 7th Birthday, Sammy!
March 10, 2012

It's been 7 amazing years!

All he wanted were these Super Mario figurines.

He also got airsoft guns so he can better defend himself from his brothers. :)

Payson, Kade, Zach, Sammy, Trey, Luke
For his birthday, he invited a few of his friends to dinner, ice cream cake, and a movie.

Blow out those candles!

We saw The Lorax.  The kids had a great time.

Half Day Fun - Ice Skating

Half Day Fun - Ice Skating
March 2, 2012
The boys had a half day at school today, so we decided to going ice skating.  Sammy is going to take a Hockey Tot class with Trey and Kade, so we thought some ice time would be wise.

Marissa & Sarah
Marissa joined us on this fun extursion.

A whole lot of boys - Trey, Jake, Kade, Sammy and Austin
Tommy missed out becaues he had basketball practice.

Sammy
Austin had a lot of fun falling on purpose.  They were sliding around having a great time.

Sarah did amazing!!

Here is a little clip of Sarah.  She went ice skating one other time about 2 years ago.  She has been spending a little bit of time on the boys' old roller blades and you can tell.  I was very impressed as she skating around all the teenagers struggling to keep their balance.  :)

Ragnar Del Sol 2012

Ragnar Del Sol - February 24-25, 2012
12 runners, 2 vans, Wickenburg to Tempe - 200.5 miles

The first van started in Wickenburg at 8:30am.  They handed off to us between 2 & 3pm.  It was so HOT!! We were already overheating and we haven't even started running.
Team #181 Trail Trotters
Van #2 - Zane, Jenny V., Me, Becca, Shannon, Chris

Zane was runner #7 (Van 1 had runners 1-6)

Zane handed off to Shannon (runner #8)

Run, Shannon, Run

Chris trying to cool Shannon down.  I think she might have been trying to get away.

Jenny V. was runner #9

Shannon, Becca, and I having fun in the van.

I was runner #10...but I was so fast they didn't get a picture.  Becca was runner #11 and it was too dark to get a picture of her.

To finish off our group, Runner #12 Chris.

I wear my reflective vest at night.

After running all night, we needed a little rest.  I did get a little sleep.

Jenny V. needed a lot of sleep since she ran most of my second leg accidentally.

I was worried about getting lost on my last leg so I wrote the directions on my hand.

Jenny V. passes off to me, I pass off to Becca.

Shannon is happy because she is DONE!

The exchage.  You can't tell but Jenny V. is happy that she is done.

I'm getting ready to take off.

I'm done, now it's Becca's last leg.

Yeah, Becca's done!

Only Chris is left, but my battery is dead so no more pictures.

Shannon and I...our team had 130 kills.  A kill is when you pass someone.  We convenientally (sp) did not count how may times we were killed (or kilt as some would say).

FUN TIMES!
