Probably not too many people are even following my blog at this point...but for those few dedicated souls (Lucy) I have created a new blog - fromthedeskofjenny2.blogspot.com. One of the reason for my lack of posts is because I have used up my free "memory." If you would like to continue to follow our family, please go to the new site.

Happy Halloween
Halloween
October 31, 2012
The kids LOVE Halloween.
Sarah, Austin, Sammy, Tommy
Austin with the classic cowboy pose.
Sammy went around on his rollerblades...it was a good idea, but he wore ALL of his hockey equipment so he actually got tired pretty quick because all the gear is pretty heavy.
We went out with a bunch of kids in our neighborhood - Trey and Kade are in there somewhere.
March on soilders.
Trick or Treating is over...yeah!
Carving Pumpkins
Carving Pumpkins
October 29, 2012
Tonight for FHE we finally carved our pumpkins. Last year at the post-Halloween sales I found this contraption to take all the pumpkin guts out.
Austin had a fun time using it but it really didn't work that well. It was just as easy to use a spoon and the spoon did a much better job.
Sarah working very diligently.

Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat
October 26, 2012
The La Loma Ward Trunk or Treat was tonight. Not sure if our whole family was ever there...well, maybe at the very end. I took Tommy & Austin at the beginning. Austin had to leave after a little bit to go to a basketball game. Sarah came a little late with her friend, Marissa. Jim and Sammy did get there until later, because Sammy had hockey practice.
This year Tommy was a confederate soilder. He got the hat and flag while we were in North Carolina.
Sarah & Marissa were both Rapunzel.

The kids got MUCHO CANDY-O. I can't wait to eat it all.

Today our time at the Carolina Clipper came to an end.
Great beach house!
Even had an elevator. The kids really liked that.
One last swing on the hammock.
Wake up, Papa, it's time to go.
On our way to Raliegh, we stop in Bentonville.
During the Civil War, the Battle of Bentonville happened at this farm house.
There were a number of unmarked tombstones.
A replica of a canon that was used during the battle.
Austin found this humongous pine cone.
After Bentonville, we finished our drive to Raliegh, we ate at the Cheesecake Factory, then made our way to Duke. Jim has always wanted to visit the Duke campus.
The Duke Chapel
After wandering around for awhile we were able to find Cameron Indoor Stadium. Jim wanted to go inside but all the doors were locked, but then he saw a bunch of volleyball players go in through a side door, so he figured he would give it a try.
Bingo - we got in.

That night we met up with my brother, Joe, and his wife, Jen, for ice cream. Then we said our goodbyes to them as well as Annette. She left for home after she dropped us off at our hotel. Early the next morning we began our return flight to Phoenix.
We had a fabuluous time in NC. Mostly because we were able to spend time with Papa and Annette, as well as reap the fruits of all Annette's labors in planning a fun trip.

Afternoon at the Beach
After spending the morning at the aquarium, we went to the beach. The kids played a little paddle ball, jumped a few waves, dug up some type of little crabs, and enjoyed our last day on the beach.
Austin enjoys paddle ball.

We did family pictures Monday afternoon, but today as we were on the beach I decided to give it another go...the sun was starting to go down, the weather was perfect...I thought it would be cool to get some sunset pictures.
