Afternoon at the Beach

 

After spending the morning at the aquarium, we went to the beach.  The kids played a little paddle ball, jumped a few waves, dug up some type of little crabs, and enjoyed our last day on the beach.

We did family pictures Monday afternoon, but today as we were on the beach I decided to give it another go...the sun was starting to go down, the weather was perfect...I thought it would be cool to get some sunset pictures.

Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium

 

This morning we went to the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium.  Wonderful aquarium.  There were lots of different hands' on activities for the kids and the exhibits were amazing, plus the cost was very reasonable.

There was also a nature walk with lots of places to view animals and plants.

Normally, I don't do this but we had so much fun at this aquarium that I actually bought the photo op pictures they took as we walked into the aquarium.

I liked them all.

North Carolina - Day 3

October 10, 2012

 

Today was scheduled to be a relaxing day on the beach.  Good thing too, because Jim had a bout of vertigo from wave surfing in the ocean the day before.  Apparently, a lot of swimmers get it when water gets in their inner ear.  Jim did come sit out on the beach with us in a sweatshirt and hoodie.  He was a little scary looking because he was very wobbly when he would stand up and a few times he could be found bent over vommiting into a hole he dug out.  Truthfully, he looked wasted.  By evening time, thankfully, he was feeling much better.

I spent A LOT of time in the ocean today.  It was so relaxing just going up and down with the waves.

Also I really enjoyed watching the waves take out the kiddos.  All three boys got wiped out by this wave.

We had so much fun today...the only thing that would have made it perfect is if Jim had been feeling better.

The kids really enjoyed the hammock on the deck.  If you look in the horizon you can see the ocean, we were literally, maybe, 100 yards from the ocean.
